01/14/2014: Our research on "Laser microsurgery for treatment of scarred vocal folds" by Murat is selected for Best Overall Experimental and Translational Research Award consideration in ASLMS

Murat's paper entitled ''Biogel Injection in Scar Tissue Enabled by Ultrafast Laser Ablation: Model for Treatment of Vocal Fold Scar'' is selected for 'Best Overall Experimental and Translational Research Award' consideration in the annual meeting of ASLMS (American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery) Laser2014 which will be held April 2-6, 2014.

 

 The award recipient's Annual Conference registration will be waived and the recipient will be acknowledged during the Plenary Session on Friday, April 4, 2014.  All award recipients are also required to submit a manuscript to Lasers in Surgery and Medicine by October 15, 2014.

We welcome the newest member of Femtolab Peisen Zhao! He is a part of the Electric and Computer Engineering department and is now part of Femmtolab. We are all excited to have him!

 
01/08/2014: Congratulations Travis! On winning the The AAAS Newcomb Cleveland Prize

Travis Jarrell and his collaborators have been awarded the AAAS Newcomb Cleveland Prize for their work done in the lab of Dr. Scott Emmons at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The title of the article is "The Connectome of a Decision-making Neural Network" and the paper itself can be found here:(http://www.sciencemag.org/content/337/6093/437.full). This is an annually awarded honor and is given to outstanding authors who published journals in "Science".

 

 

 

 
10/16/2013: Navid received the Tony B. Academic Travel Award to attend SLAS2014

Navid received the Tony B. Academic Travel Award to attend the Third Annual SLAS Conference and Exhibition (SLAS2014), which will be held January 18-22, 2014 in San Diego, CA. He will present a poster entitled "Automated Microfluidic Multiplexer for Fast Delivery of C. elegans Populations from Multiwells."

 
10/02/2013: Murat's paper was accepted!

Murat's paper entitled "Parameters affecting ultrafast laser microsurgery of sub-epithelial voids for scar treatment in vocal folds" was accepted in the Journal of Biomedical Optics! icon_pdf
