Research:

For the past two years, I have been learning about two photon microscopy, gold nanoparticle functionalization, and C.elegans neuroaxotomy. I am currently working to develop a protocol that will covalently bind antibodies to the surface of gold nanoparticles allowing them to attach tightly to breast cancer cells. I synthesize nanoparticles, work to optimize a functionalization protocol and am currently learning about cell culturing, plating techniques, tissue phantoms, and cell labeling techniques. I hope to make a lasting contribution to this group in what ways I can and take away great experiences that will benefit me in the future.
