Research:

My project involves studying and characterizing micromachining of borosilicate glass using a femtosecond laser. This provides a quick and easily customizable process for making microfluidic samples. I intend to extend this study to micromachining of other dielectric materials (including biological tissue) with different optical and thermal properties. Currently, I am focusing on the effect of beam-shaping on the ablation crater morphology.
