Research:

I am working to develop Plasmonic Laser Nanoablation as a tool for the nanoablation of solid surfaces and targeted photodisruption of cellular membranes. Initial work focused on the fabrication of nanostructures ablated in silicon and borosilicate glass by the plasmonic scattering of ultrashort, near-infrared laser pulses incident single and multi-particle aggregates.  Current work involves characterizing ultra-low fluence, 80 MHz photodisruption and evaluating its effectiveness in causing death by necrosis for cancer treatment and transient pore formation for cellular transfection.
