Research:

My research focuses on the clinical development of femtosecond laser microsurgery and multiphoton microscopy. Specifically, I am interested in the design and construction of small endoscopic devices capable of delivering amplified femtosecond laser pulses for diagnosis and/or treatment of disease.  To deliver and control ultrashort pulses, my work incorporates study of photonic crystal fibers, MEMS components, nonlinear optical phenomena, and micro-optics, as well as the challenges of packaging and manufacturing small-scale biomedical devices.
